Do you like working with wood. If wood is your hobby, you could concider this... This 26" Wide Drum Sander has a 6" Dia. steel drum with two 26" x 1 - 3/4" Dia. rollers between the main sanding drum roller itself. (Picture of the open top is displayed). Just to let you know first - As in the picture, the main roller does appear to be used along with the other stuff about the machine showen in other pictures, that's why I'm generaly selling this item as "used". The first 1 - 3/4" roller pulls the wood in and the other 1 3/4" roller pulls the wood out to get an even smooth, sandy finish to your wood. The Stock Thickness range is: from 0" to about 5" max. Shortest Sandable Stock is: 7". Variable feed range is: 0 - 16 FPM. Power Consumption is 230 AC Volts, Single Phase Motor. RPM's of the motor is: 1,740. Motor
HP is: 5. AMP's of motor is: 23. You would need a 30 Amp x 230 Volt Curcuit breaker to run this machine for fuse saftey. I would say this machine uses about 3,700 Watts or 5 to 7 Average kitchen toasters running at the same time however in the industrial business, this wouldn't in anyway pose is a problem as electric consumption would go. The over all dimensions of this machine is 42" Wide x 25 - 1/2" Depth x 53" High. (With the crank in place on the top or subtract about 8" from the top). May I recomend a crate or box of 4'W x 3'D/L x 4'H unless you have another way of protecting this item during shipment or pickup once it's yours. The weight of this drum sander is about 450 to 500 Pounds. Could the weight from moving this drum sander be a major problem? In the one picture, the are six (6) steel caster wheels this machine sets on. I made this special timber wood crate for only fo this machine to place on. There are side blocks of wood around the lower structure to keep the machine from slipping of the crate while in motion. 6 all Swivel 2" Dia. 7/8" Wide Steel Caster wheels. You could push this machine with just two of your index fingers and 500 pounds is easy to navagate on concrete floors especially on smooth croncrete floors. Easy to remove crate for stationary use. Sound? While running, it has a smooth sound and no jittering noises either. Interior and exterior is not rusty at all accept some of pullies having very small pit marks on them. Might be some paint spots / marks on it here and there (on the outside)however not noticable. Has a 100th per inch gauge when you are dealing with a stock of wood 1" or thinner Why I'm selling at this price?..
